Our Story

Trails End Conservancy, founded in 2011, is a non-profit service organization that is sustained by the 200-year old Gibson Farm. The organization is a sanctuary for the rescue and rehabilitation of horses and maintains non- motorized public trails. , Jim, founder of Trails End Conservancy, grew up on Gibson farm, surrounded by four generations of horsemen. A veteran, he served in the United States Army as a helicopter pilot during Desert Storm. In 2015, Jim suffered a traumatic brain injury. His close contact with horses throughout his recovery demonstrates how a program like this can be to assist with the healing process. With rescuing horses, Jim found that “he was fixing the horses, but all in all they were fixing him”.

"There's nothing better for the inside of a man than the outside a horse"
