A proud Military Veteran, Jim fought bravely for our country overseas and although he may physically have left it all behind, his mind did not. Amazingly enough Jim found the relief he needed right in his very own stable. Working with and riding the rescue horses transformed his mental strain to that of peace. With his new found enthusiasm Jim wanted to share his therapeutic healing with other veterans and thus “Fly High with Horses” was born.  Veterans from all branches of the military and their families have come together with these amazing creatures and have truly benefited one another. It is indeed amazing to see the evident transformation that takes place of each veteran attendant. They learn new skills, regain confidence, find fellowship and understanding and for some a renewed “purpose”. These amazing veterans can be found mounted on horseback at local parades as a tribute to those that have fallen, proudly carrying our country’s colors. The program’s benefit doesn’t end in the barn though, these veterans also find a network of aid including things like housing assistance, help with food insecurities, medical help, furnishings, etc.

This benefits goal is to keep this program and the memory of Jim alive!
